How MOEMS Division M actually works
MOEMS is a season rather than a single test, and Division M is its middle-school level. Here is what your student will actually sit.

MOEMS is run at school by a teacher or coach called the PICO, who enrolls a team of up to 35 students and gives each contest under test conditions, on paper or online, within a roughly four-week window. Students work alone, with no calculators, rulers, graph paper, or other aids.
Scores accumulate across the five contests, so a student score runs from 0 to 25 and the team score is the sum of the ten highest student scores. Every student receives a certificate; the top 50% earn a patch, the top 3–10% a silver pin, the top 2% a gold pin, and a perfect 25 earns the George Lenchner Medallion.
Compared with Division E, the problems assume more: algebra as an everyday tool, angle and area reasoning, the Pythagorean theorem, counting and probability, and the classic ratio, rate, and percent traps. This guide gives each of those its own chapter, then five full practice olympiads in the contest format.
