A Complete Math Kangaroo Study Plan for First and Second Grade.
The Grades 1–2 Math Kangaroo paper is 24 picture questions in 75 minutes, in three blocks worth 3, 4 and 5 points. The numbers are small; the thinking is the hard part.
This guide teaches one question type per chapter, in the same picture-first style. Every problem shows its points like the real paper, so your child learns what a 3-point and a 5-point question feel like.
Every answer has a picture, one line for your child, and a note for you with the most common wrong answer, so you can see exactly where the thinking went off track.
More than memorizing
The confidence to think through a new kind of problem.
Math Kangaroo rewards curiosity, careful reading, and trying a strategy when the answer is not obvious. The guide gives students a friendly way to practise all three.

Frequently asked questions
What grades is this guide for?
This edition is written for first and second graders, who sit the same Math Kangaroo paper. The type is large and every problem is a picture with one or two short sentences.
Is it hard?
Some of it, on purpose. Each chapter climbs from 3-point warm-ups to 5-point problems, and the two starred Challenges go a step beyond the real paper. It is fine to leave them for a second day.
How should my child use the guide?
Two or three problems a day is plenty. Work through the 12 chapters in four weeks, then take Practice Test A; save the timed Practice Test B (75 minutes) for a few days before the contest.
Are the problems original?
Yes — 100% original, written in the style and difficulty of the real contest. We never copy actual contest problems.
How do I get the guide after buying?
You'll get an instant download page after checkout, plus an email with your download link.
Is there a refund policy?
We generally don't offer refunds, but if you're not satisfied, contact us and we'll do our best to make it right.
